Dr. J. Suzanne Turpin-Mair

Dr. J. Suzanne Turpin-Mair, a Professor of Dentistry, joined Jones Dental Care because of the high quality of care given to patients, the availability of the latest technology, and the warmth and professionalism of the staff.

Dr. Turpin-Mair has received many awards in Dentistry, including the Percy Leigh Prize for Clinical Dentistry from the University of Leeds, England, a Golden Apple Award for Teaching from the Louisiana State University Dental School, a Fulbright Award for Clinical Dental Research, a Fellowship from the American College of Dentists and was inducted into this honorary professional organization because of her contributions to Dentistry.

Dr. Turpin-Mair has made numerous presentations at International Dental Research Meetings, and has many publications on her research on Fluoride Releasing Resins. She served as Director for three courses in the dental curriculum, at the LSU Dental School, and taught in eight other clinical and preclinical dental courses. She has the wisdom and expertise of forty years of teaching and practicing Dentistry. Dr. Turpin-Mair is originally from Jamaica where she served in the Government Service and in her private practice, prior to migrating to the U.S. She was one of the first dentists to teach at the Dental Auxiliary School in Kingston. She enjoys spending time with her family and is the proud mother of Dr. Laurence Mair and Miss Chantalle Mair. She is heavily involved locally and internationally in volunteering and helping the less fortunate.
